The BD9 is a compact business complex with spa located on a small plot in the historic quarter. A self-sufficient quarter in the bigger city block, the project is centred on its courtyard, which contains a cascade of terraces descending from the stylobate level to the underground. As a result of a multi-layered structure, the yard appears larger, and the walking surface increases. In addition, this solution allows natural light to enter the underground parking area and the spa.
Besides the terraces, amphitheatres, and green areas, water dominates the courtyard. Small shallow ponds surround most sections of the complex, creating a floating illusion. The central pond is surrounded by a bench and a glass railing, both complemented by small brass details which can be used as tables or leaned upon. All outdoor furniture is designed in accordance with the design of the complex, and one terrace has an awning for rain protection.
