The most valuable material in Signature House was already inside the building. Before any new finish was specified, the surviving detail was audited: wooden window frames, historical lanterns, the existing terrazzo flooring, patterned metal grilles. Each element was assessed for direct preservation or for reinterpretation in new work, so that what a resident touches in the finished interior belongs to the building rather than to a period reference applied from outside.

That audit also settled a question the building could not answer on its own. Signature House is not one architectural period but at least three, accumulated between the 1860s and the 1970s across its lives as a distillery, a yeast factory and a sewing factory, with no single original interior to return to. Rather than choosing an era, the interiors work with two registers at once: the industrial character of the 19th-century balsam distillery, in burnt brick, brickwork and steel, and Mid-Century Modern, the movement contemporaneous with the volume that gives the building its present form and still partially legible inside it.

The Mid-Century framework sets the working rules. Silhouettes are simple and free of excess decoration. Materials are natural: teak and walnut, stone, ceramic tile, glass and metal. The palette runs from a neutral base of warm white, cream and beige to accents in walnut brown, terracotta, burgundy, cognac and brass. Rooms are open and light-filled, connected to the outdoors, with geometric ornament in the atomic style.

The palette carries outside as well as in. The terracotta of the interiors is the terracotta of the courtyard concrete and the ceramic at street level, so the building reads as one project rather than as an exterior and an interior developed separately.

The language is applied first in the shared lobbies and entrance areas, the spaces that set expectation before a resident reaches their own door. Apartments extend the same standard through two delivery formats: a white-box unit with a furniture package, or a grey shell with a full design and furnishing package. The interior standard reaches the private units without imposing a single taste on every buyer.
